Product Description
The first Rosewood Telecaster was given to George Harrison as a gift from Fender to be used in the Beatles movie "Let It Be". It's production ran from 1969 to 1972 with the earlier models being extremely heavy and later ones, such as this, being given a bit of weight relief to make them more manageable. Indeed, at a not unimpressive 8.7 pounds, this guitar is totally manageable! The sandwich Rosewood body is separated by a thin piece of maple in the middle and the rosewood used here is absolutely stunning looking. The one piece rosewood neck is also a treasure to behold in itself. The high gloss finish adds a layer of majesty to this axe as it covers the fretboard as well making for an other-worldly smooth ride. This 1972 Fender Rosewood Telecaster is all original. The saddles have been replaced with GraphTech compensated saddles but the originals are in fine condition and included with the guitar! Some other stand out features include the ashtray bridge cover, Fender F style tuners, original hard shell case and original pickups. The pots both date to 1966. The neck plate serial number is # 342943.
